Who is CoCo?

CoCo Communications Corporation was founded in 2002 with an original idea: Solve first responder communication issues by creating software that bridges the interoperability gap for radios (LMR), cellular phones, and computers.

Radically Different – A New Approach to Networking

Typical networks require the user to reach out to the network, and if the user is too far away or doesn’t have the right type of device, they won’t be able to communicate. CoCo takes a new approach: What if we designed a network that started with the individual instead of the network? What if that user could choose any device on any network? A single user with CoCo Node can go out and their CoCo powered device will find other CoCo devices to form a network.

As CoCo developed a solution to today’s communication challenges, it became apparent that the technology we created for radio interoperability also worked to solve critical tactical networking issues, by forming a next generation Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) that simultaneously addresses security, interoperability, and network capacity. As a result, our nation’s protectors and first responders now have secure, interoperable, and scalable communications without changing the way they naturally communicate with each other. Customers access their communication infrastructure using existing communications systems, protecting previous capital investments.

CoCo's patented technology (U.S. Pat. 7,624,165) has been used by the US Navy, US Coast Guard, TSA and has gone through extensive testing at the JIT DICE 2006, 2007 and its Crypto Module is FIPS 140-2 validated (cert # 1021). CoCo Communications is headquartered in Seattle, Washington and also has offices in Dallas, Texas and Laurel, Maryland. CoCo is working closely with local, state, and federal public safety agencies to help solve interoperability once and for all and make our nation a safer, stronger America.
